Dow ESG Report Shows Company Gains in Key Areas

Coming into 2022, corporate focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and initiatives was set to intensify in the face of public scrutiny and shareholder pressure. As a result, a number of companies have released new ESG reports this summer, revealing the progress they’ve made and the planning that’s going into the strategies that will evolve their businesses.

Recently, Dow published its 2021 ESG report titled “INtersections”, providing an update on the company’s progress toward important goals in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative and as Dow’s U.N. Global Compact Communication of Progress for 2021. The company has been on a mission to decarbonize, with aggressive targets to reduce net annual carbon emission by 5 million metric tons from 2020 baseline numbers by 2030.

In all, the organization’s ESG efforts are what Chairman and CEO Jim Fitterling calls a “catalyst for innovation and collaboration to create new products, new business models and new ways to build value for customers and communities as well as stockholders.”
